I’ve been immersed in everything Samsung for the last 6 Years. Leading Senior Division Managers, Omni-Channel depts, 3rd Party Agencies, and our own Internal Teams has led to many annual Design and Print Retainers from Samsung. While a significant portion of my work centered around Samsung Experience Stores (SES), I also consolidated their Digital Appliance (DA) POP from multiple agencies taking 1-2 product lines traditionally, to just Blake Jarrett & Co as their first sole Design, Copywriting and Print vendor from 2019-2023 for all product categories. The teams I led were also core contributors to the work we did for Samsung’s overall Store and Kiosk Environments, SIS + Pop-Up Shops, Tradeshow Events, and other divisions like the many Displays we developed for Home Electronics (HE) and Mobile Experience (MX).

Samsung Experience Stores (SES)

Relationship building and the fact that I became the key info holder allowed me to grow this retainer by $100k YOY to over a million within 5 years. Samsung trusted me to train new Senior SES Managers and then help them create their annual Marketing Calendar, SOWs, and WBSs for their Experience Stores nationwide. This included Quarterly Flagship Launches where we built a data-cleanroom so my teams could work under an extremely strict NDA. We’d either create Original Campaigns (Styleguide, Key Visuals, Copywriting) or localize content from HQ in South Korea, then share working files and direction with multiple teams in North America (SECA/SEA) to flush out their touchpoints (Omnichannel/CDM/.COM/Social/Carriers). Since Samsung’s core is innovation they were always looking for a “Never-Been-Done-Before” solution that demanded attention and pushed the envelope in regards to design/tech. Leveraging Artisans, Manufacturers, New Technologies, Substrates, and Experiential elements, my teams would design and produce everything from 30’ x 20’ large format Window Decals to be installed on the exterior of their CF Toronto Eaton Centre Flagship Store during below freezing temperatures, to a miracle turnaround Social Experience we learned about on a Friday at 5pm ...and then designed, produced (as a favour from a BC print shop), and installed before the Samsung President and CEO arrived at Metrotown 10am Monday morning. Directing ambitious juniors to populate Retail POP templates for in-store communication, to hiring live artists and influencers, and integrating sourced tech innovations like Infinity Mirrors that disrupt and demand attention in a sea-of-sameness.
